This Glendullan was bottled by Sexywhisky, a 10 year old, distilled in 2010, at 55%, one of 50 bottles. Glendullan is a Speyside single malt, founded in 1897 in Dufftown, the last of the town's seven distilleries. Within a few years it was supplied to King Edward VII by royal request, from 1902. Its founder also struck an exclusive supply deal with neighbouring Glenfiddich. Most of its make has always gone to blends, above all Diageo's Old Parr.

The spirit was worked unhurried through the stillhouse, for a fresh, fruity spirit with a light body. Maturation came in an Oloroso cask, layered over the green Glendullan make. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin rounding out as esters lend a riper orchard and tropical fruit. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and a soft coconut over the fruit. Maturation runs slow and even in the warehouses at Dufftown.

At a hearty 55% it carries real weight. A fresh, fruity malt with a green edge, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Soft pear and a light vanilla sit behind the cask. A fresh finish closes on pear and a soft oak. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside single malt.
