A 28 year old Glencadam from Jack Wiebers Whisky World, 1978, at 56.2%. A clean, fruity malt over a light, creamy body, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Its upward angled lyne arms raise the reflux for a lighter, fruitier spirit. Revived under Angus Dundee ownership in 2003 after a three year closure. This is Glencadam’s delicate, creamy Highland character.

Description
Jack Wiebers Whisky World bottled this Glencadam, a 28 year old, distilled in 1978, from cask 2311, at 56.2%, one of 402 bottles. Glencadam is a Highland single malt, long a core flavour of the Ballantine's blend. It was bought by Angus Dundee Distillers in 2003, who also own Tomintoul, ending a three year closure. Most of its make long went to blends; bottled single malt Glencadam was rare until a full range arrived.
Worked unhurried through the stillhouse, building a soft malt of orchard fruit and a creamy sweetness. An Oloroso cask held it, drawing the light spirit on over the years. In the oxidative, evaporative years the spirit concentrates to tropical fruit, honey and a waxy depth. A soft, creamy texture from the spirit carries through the maturation. Because the upward lyne arms keep the spirit light, the cask shows clearly through the years.
At its natural 56.2% it is full and fruity. Pear, apple and a soft cream, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Beneath it run pear, apple and a soft cream. The finish is light, fruity and clean. This is the gentle, fruity malt of the eastern Highlands.
