This official Glencadam, a 15 year old, at 46%. Glencadam is a Highland single malt, founded in 1825 in Angus, in the eastern Highlands. It is the only distillery in Angus, and the last in Brechin since North Port closed in 1983. It became a core malt of the Ballantine's blend after Hiram Walker bought it in 1954. It was bought by Angus Dundee Distillers in 2003, who also own Tomintoul, ending a three year closure. Its single malts are bottled at 46 percent, without chill filtration or added colour.

Run slowly off the spirit still, for a fine, fruity spirit with a light body. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, a soft vanilla beneath the fruit. Through oxidative maturity the esters concentrate, the orchard fruit turning to mango, pineapple and a waxy honey. The clean, fruity spirit deepens with time, the cask drawing out a creamy honey. First fill wood drives the maturation, the cask clear in the light spirit.

Bottled at 46%, it is light and creamy. Melon, pear and a soft, creamy sweetness, lifted by a soft oak. Melon, pear and a creamy honey fill the middle. The finish is rounded, fruity and clean. This is a gently fruity, creamy Highland malt.
