A 26 year old Glenburgie from Signatory Vintage, distilled in 1995, from cask 6670 + 6671, at 56%, one of 431 bottles. Glenburgie is a clean, fruity Speyside malt, light and fresh in the glass. It has belonged to Chivas Brothers, part of Pernod Ricard, since 2005. The old distillery was demolished and rebuilt in 2004, only the little stone office left standing.

It was taken gently through wash and spirit stills, shaping a fine, clean malt with a floral lift. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a soft honey over the orchard fruit. In the oxidative, evaporative years the spirit concentrates to tropical fruit, honey and a waxy, candle wax depth. Built for the blender's art, the make ages with quiet grace as a single malt. Active wood frames the fruit without ever crowding the Speyside spirit. First fill wood drives the maturation, the cask clear in the spirit.

At its natural 56% it is full and fruity. Pear, floral notes and a soft, waxy sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A light orchard fruit and a soft spice give it shape. It finishes light, fresh and faintly waxy. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside single malt.
