A 19 year old Glenburgie from Master of Malt, distilled in 1995, at 55.8%, one of 151 bottles. Glenburgie is a clean, fruity Speyside malt, light and fresh in the glass. The old distillery was demolished and rebuilt in 2004, only the little stone office left standing.

It was taken gently through wash and spirit stills, giving a fragrant, orchard led Speyside spirit. It was finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building on the light, fruity spirit. Through oxidative maturity the esters concentrate, the apple and pear turning to a waxy honey and soft tropical fruit. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and a soft coconut over the fruit. First fill wood drives the maturation, the cask clear in the spirit. Years in oak deepen the spirit to old gold, the body growing rounder and waxier with time. Built for the blender's art, the make ages with quiet grace as a single malt.

At a hearty 55.8% it carries real weight. Pear, floral notes and a soft, waxy sweetness, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Soft apple and a waxy honey sit behind the cask. A long, fruity finish carries a waxy honey. This is a light, fruity Speyside single malt.
