This official Glen Scotia, a 10 year old, cask Batch 1, at 55.3%, 2000 bottles in all. Glen Scotia is a Campbeltown single malt from the Loch Lomond Group, salty and oily in style. Its water is drawn from Crosshill Loch above the town.

It was made on Crosshill Loch water in the heart of Campbeltown, building the Campbeltown Glen Scotia style. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending vanilla and a little coconut. By the integrating teens congeners fade and esters build, the salty, oily spirit growing rounder. A gentle maturation suits the oily make, the sea salt and toffee growing with time. Its Victoriana and single cask releases have won the distillery wide acclaim. The oily, coastal spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and brine to the fore. It is one of only three working distilleries left in Campbeltown, with Springbank and Glengyle. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit.

At a natural 55.3% it is full and oily. Sea salt, oil and a salted toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft citrus and a salted oil sit behind the cask. The finish runs long, oily and coastal. This is a salty, oily Campbeltown single malt.
