Glen Moray from the distillery, an 8 year old, from 2015, cask 6007289, at 56.2%. Glen Moray, founded in 1897 in a former brewery, is one of Speyside's best loved malts. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.

Drawn off the stills for a clean, fruity Speyside spirit, building the fresh Glen Moray style. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanillin lending vanilla under the apple. Young and extractive, the cask sheds vanillin (vanilla) and toasted sugars (light caramel) over the clean, fruity spirit. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit.

Bottled at a cask strength 56.2%, it is rich. Baked apple, vanilla and a creamy toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. The texture is light and clean, the fruit lifted by vanilla. The finish is rounded, fruity and clean. This is Glen Moray's clean, accessible Speyside style.
