This official Glen Moray, a 5 year old, from 2014, cask 1194, at 60.4%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt and a pioneer of wine cask finishing. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.

Drawn off the stills for a clean, fruity Speyside spirit, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. A refill bourbon hogshead held it, keeping the fresh, fruity character to the fore. Young and extractive, the cask sheds vanillin (vanilla) and toasted sugars (light caramel) over the clean, fruity spirit. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. It closed in 1910 and reopened in 1923 under Macdonald and Muir of Glenmorangie. The accessible, fruity make is the base for the distillery's many cask finishes. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit.

At a natural 60.4% it is full and fruity. Green apple, vanilla and a soft honey, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Pear, honey and a creamy toffee fill the middle. The finish runs light, fruity and clean. This is a light Speyside malt from the banks of the Lossie.
