From the bottler Decadent Drinks, a 31 year old Glen Moray, bottled at 50.5%, one of 223 bottles. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt and a pioneer of wine cask finishing. Its light, fresh spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum.

It was worked through the stills for a light, sweet make, building a light, accessible character of orchard fruit and vanilla. It was finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood layered over the light malt. Ethereal and fragile, decades draw the light malt to a honeyed, waxy delicacy of sotolon, dried fruit and old oak. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear. It closed in 1910 and reopened in 1923 under Macdonald and Muir of Glenmorangie.

At a natural 50.5% it is full and fruity. Green apple, honey and a gentle oak, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. Soft orchard fruit and a creamy vanilla sit behind the cask. A fresh finish ends on apple and a soft oak. This is a light Speyside malt from the banks of the Lossie.
