Description
This Glen Moray was bottled by Wemyss Malts, a 25 year old, distilled in 1996, bottled at 46%, one of 245 bottles. Glen Moray is a light, easy Speyside single malt with a long line of cask finishes. It is known for excellent value, with age statements priced more keenly than most.
Made on River Lossie water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the light spirit. Through the evaporative decades the spirit concentrates, esters folding into dried fruit, beeswax and a soft honey. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. The light spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum. Its light, fresh spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make. Maturation in the bonded warehouses at Elgin is slow and steady.
Reduced to 46%, it is mellow. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fresh and fruity, the light spirit shining through. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside single malt.
