Description
A Glen Moray of an 18 year old chosen by the London house Berry Bros and Rudd, distilled in 2007, from cask 5780, bottled at 57.2%, one of 186 bottles. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.
It was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. Most Glen Moray begins in American oak ex-Bourbon, the base for its cask finishes. Through oxidative maturity esters concentrate, the apple turning honeyed and a soft dried fruit creeping in. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit. A gentle maturation suits the light make, the orchard fruit growing richer with time. It is known for excellent value, with age statements priced more keenly than most.
At its natural 57.2% it is concentrated. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fresh and fruity, the light spirit shining through. A long, fruity finish carries a green apple and a soft spice. This is Glen Moray's clean, accessible Speyside style.
