From the bottler Brhler Whiskyhaus, a 14 year old Glen Moray, bottled at 51.7%, one of 298 bottles. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. It runs a large still house at Elgin, expanded over the years to meet demand.

The spirit was drawn off the stills for a clean, fruity Speyside spirit, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla and a soft honey. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper apple and pear. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. The clean, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and fruit to the fore. Maturation in the bonded warehouses at Elgin is slow and steady. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear.

At a hearty 51.7% it carries real weight. A light, orchard fruit and toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A soft fruit and a gentle oak give it depth. The close is light and clean, fruit over a gentle oak. This is a light Speyside malt from the banks of the Lossie.
