Description
A Glen Moray of a 14 year old chosen by the bottler Acla da Fans, distilled in 2007, bottled at 51.1%, one of 115 bottles. Glen Moray is a light, easy Speyside single malt with a long line of cask finishes. It runs a large still house at Elgin, expanded over the years to meet demand.
The spirit was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla and a soft honey. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and toffee. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Moray warehouses at Elgin. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make.
At its natural 51.1% it is concentrated. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A soft fruit and a gentle oak give it depth. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside single malt.
