A Glen Moray of a 12 year old chosen by the bottler The Whisky Chamber, distilled in 2012, from cask TWC 0326, bottled at 56.8%, one of 166 bottles. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. Most of its malt matures first in American oak ex-Bourbon before any cask finish.

The spirit was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, building a light, accessible character of orchard fruit and vanilla. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, the gentle American oak letting the light fruit lead. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and toffee. Maturation in the bonded warehouses at Elgin is slow and steady. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make.

At its natural 56.8% it is concentrated. Baked apple, vanilla and a creamy toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft vanilla. Apple, pear and a soft oak see out the finish. This is a light Speyside malt from the banks of the Lossie.
