Description
This Glen Moray was bottled by Langside Distillers, a 12 year old, distilled in 2007, bottled at 46%, one of 168 bottles. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from La Martiniquaise, light and approachable in style. It is known for excellent value, with age statements priced more keenly than most.
Made on River Lossie water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending vanilla and a little coconut. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and toffee. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way.
At an approachable 46% it is light and easy. A clean, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a creamy vanilla sit behind the cask. A long, fruity finish carries a green apple and a soft spice. This is a light Speyside malt from the banks of the Lossie.
