From the bottler Hidden Spirits, a 10 year old Glen Moray, distilled in 2012, from cask GLM1223, bottled at 53.9%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.
Worked through the stills for a light, sweet make, building the fresh Glen Moray style. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, the gentle American oak letting the light fruit lead. By the integrating teens congeners fade and esters build, the light, fruity spirit growing rounder. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Moray warehouses at Elgin. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. It is known for excellent value, with age statements priced more keenly than most. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt.
At 53.9%, undiluted, it is deep and fruity. Apple, pear and a soft vanilla, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A soft fruit and a gentle oak give it depth. It finishes light, fresh and fruity. This is an approachable Speyside single malt from Elgin.
