A 10 year old Glen Moray from the bottler James Eadie, distilled in 2012, from cask 361159, bottled at 57.3%, one of 266 bottles. Glen Moray is a fruity Speyside malt made on River Lossie water at Elgin. It closed in 1910 and reopened in 1923 under Macdonald and Muir of Glenmorangie.

It was worked through the stills for a light, sweet make, for the light, fruity make Glen Moray is known for. It was finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood layered over the light malt. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and toffee. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. It runs a large still house at Elgin, expanded over the years to meet demand. Long ageing turns the fresh apple towards dried fruit, honey and a soft spice. It was a pioneer of wine cask finishing, working with Chardonnay casks back in the 1990s.

At a natural 57.3% it is full and fruity. A clean, fruity sweetness, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. A baked apple and a gentle spice lift it. The finish runs light, fruity and clean. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside single malt.
