A Glen Keith of a 32 year old chosen by the East Village Whisky Company, distilled in 1993, bottled at 52%. Glen Keith is a Speyside single malt known for a light, sweet, fruity character. It sits within sight of Strathisla, the oldest distillery in Scotland.

The spirit was made on Balloch Hill water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, building a light, fruity character of green apple and pear. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, the gentle American oak letting the light fruit lead. At a great, fragile age oxidation rules, sotolon lending maple and dried fig as beeswax and a tropical fruit linger. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Keith warehouses. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit. Its tall, narrowing stills give a light, fruity Speyside spirit. Built for the blender's art, the spirit ages with grace as a single malt.

At cask strength 52% it is full bodied. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Pear, citrus and a creamy vanilla fill the middle. The close is light and clean, fruit over a gentle oak. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside malt from the Chivas stable.
