A 29 year old Glen Keith from the bottler The Whisky Cellar, distilled in 1993, from cask 8525, bottled at 50.2%, one of 91 bottles. Glen Keith is a Speyside single malt from Chivas Brothers, light and sweet in style. Single malt Glen Keith is rare, most of it coming from independent bottlers.

Made on Balloch Hill water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. First fill bourbon gave a fuller vanilla and a touch of coconut from the lactones. Through the evaporative decades the spirit concentrates, esters folding into mango, beeswax and a soft honey. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Keith warehouses. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. Balloch Hill water and the tall stills give the light Glen Keith make. It sits within sight of Strathisla, the oldest distillery in Scotland.

At cask strength 50.2% it is full bodied. A light, orchard fruit and citrus, with a soft vanilla from the oak. The mouthfeel is light, the fruit carried on a clean body. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is a Speyside single malt of real lightness.
