This Glen Keith was bottled by Decadent Drinks, a 28 year old, distilled in 1993, bottled at 51.9%, one of 314 bottles. Glen Keith is a clean, fruity Speyside malt from the town of Keith in Moray. It was built in 1957 by Seagram on the site of a meal mill, directly behind Strathisla.

The spirit was distilled from unpeated malt in tall, narrowing stills, building a light, fruity character of green apple and pear. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanillin lending vanilla under the apple. At this evaporative stage ellagitannins lend a drying structure while oxidation builds a richer, tropical fruit. The tall, narrowing stills give a light spirit that takes the cask well. Years in oak round the spirit, the green apple deepening to honey and tropical fruit. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit.

Bottled at a cask strength 51.9%, it is rich. Baked apple, citrus and a creamy vanilla, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a clean malt sit behind the cask. A long, fruity finish carries a green apple and a soft spice. This is a clean, fruity Speyside single malt.
