A Glen Keith of a 21 year old chosen by the Pitlochry bottler Signatory Vintage, distilled in 1992, from cask 120566 + 120569, bottled at 57.5%, one of 271 bottles. Glen Keith is a Speyside single malt from Chivas Brothers, light and sweet in style. It was the first new distillery to open in Speyside since the great whisky crash of 1898.

The spirit was made on Balloch Hill water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanillin lending vanilla under the apple. Into oxidative maturity, slow air ingress builds fruity ethyl esters (apple and pear) and a honeyed depth. Balloch Hill water and the tall stills give the light Glen Keith make. Much of the Glen Keith make went to the blenders, a little kept as single malt. Its first permanent single malt was released in 2017, the Distillery Edition.

At a natural 57.5% it is full and fruity. Green apple, pear and a soft malt, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fresh and fruity, the light spirit shining through. A long, fruity finish carries a green apple and a soft spice. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside malt from the Chivas stable.
