This is a Glasgow single malt, chosen and bottled by North Star Spirits, a 5 year old release from 2016 and bottled at 51.5%. The outturn was 358 bottles. The Glasgow Distillery Company opened in Hillington in 2012, the first malt distillery in Glasgow since 1902. Its 1770 single malt comes in three styles: The Original, the Peated, and the Triple Distilled.

Run through the distillery's copper pot stills, to build a clean, orchard fruit character. A sherry cask held it, the wood lending raisin and walnut. Years in active oak round the young spirit and add the cask's own character. A young distillery, it leans on active wood to bring its whisky to life quickly. It was named Scottish Distillery of the Year in 2020. The make is bright and fruity, a modern, metropolitan take on Lowland malt. Production has grown year on year as demand for Glasgow malt has risen. The Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 2012, the first malt distillery in Glasgow in over a century.

At a full 51.5% it is bold and fruity. Orchard fruit and a light honey lead, and the Oloroso brings dried fruit, fig and a nutty depth. A green apple and a warm spice lift it. A fruity, gently spiced finish lingers. This is a young, fruity Glasgow single malt.
