Softer and rounder than a London Dry, this Old Tom leads with gentle juniper, mild citrus and a whisper of liquorice sweetness. Distilled in small batches at Thames Distillers and lightly sugared in the historical style, it finishes smooth and faintly sweet. A nod to the gin shops of old London.

Description
Gin Lane 1751 Old Tom revives a style that sits between London Dry and the sweetened genevers of the eighteenth century, made in small batches at Thames Distillers. The recipe runs classic, juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, orris root, lemon peel, orange and liquorice, but a subtle measure of sugar is added at the end, rounding the juniper and giving the spirit a softer, fuller shape than its dry sibling, all at 40%.
The nose is gentle, juniper edged with fresh citrus and a hint of liquorice. The palate is full-bodied and round, juniper to the fore with mild citrus, fine spice and a pleasant sweetness; the finish is soft, harmonious and lightly sweet. This is the gin the old cocktails ask for, so reach for a Tom Collins or a Martinez where its mellow sweetness comes into its own.
