Fulanito is a playful young Ribera del Duero red from the Uvas de Cuvée project, drawing fruit from the Real Sitio de Ventosilla estate. A blend of Tempranillo and Merlot aged six months in oak, it shows ripe plum, cherry and a light spice.
Description
Fulanito is a young red from D.O. Ribera del Duero, the work of the Uvas de Cuvée project by Cuvée 3000 in collaboration with the Real Sitio de Ventosilla winery. It reflects the region in a playful, approachable register, made from a blend of Tempranillo and Merlot. The fruit comes from the 400 hectares of the Real Sitio de Ventosilla estate, where Ribera del Duero's high-altitude plateau drives a wide day-to-night temperature swing, ripening the fruit while cool nights preserve acidity, colour and freshness. The wine is aged for six months in French and American oak barrels followed by five months in bottle, a short, measured oak regime that softens the tannin and adds a light spice while keeping the focus on bright, ripe fruit. The colour is deep, youthful cherry red. The nose shows ripe plum, cherry and red berries over a light vanilla and oak spice. The palate is medium to full bodied, fresh and fruit-driven, with supple tannin and a clean finish. Serve at 16 to 17 degrees. It is an easy match for grilled and roasted meat and everyday Spanish dishes.
