Description
Fuji Gotemba 25 Years Old is a single grain whisky from Kirin's Fuji Gotemba distillery in Shizuoka prefecture, one of Japan's most technically accomplished grain producers, with malt and three distinct grain types distilled on a single site since 1973. A 25-year age statement on Japanese single grain is genuinely rare, and this expression stands as a mature showpiece of the distillery's core expertise, bottled at 46% for the domestic market.
Two and a half decades in Ex-Bourbon casks allow American oak to fully integrate with the light, clean new make spirit, typically producing softened vanilla and tropical fruit alongside toasted coconut and a gentle spice from the wood. The Fuji Gotemba grain style favours precision and structure rather than heaviness, and at this age the result is a composed, unhurried whisky with considerable complexity built from patience rather than intensity.
