Freihof Mirtillo Liqueur

Freihof Mirtillo Liqueur is a blueberry liqueur from the Freihof distillery in Austria, built on the juicy sweetness of ripe blueberries set against finely balanced spice and fresh citrus. The distillery uses only natural ingredients, and the carefully selected botanicals include blueberries, juniper berries, limes and ginger, which give it a fruity character with a spiced backbone rather than a one note sweetness. It is bottled at 22.5%.

The nose is ripe blueberry with fresh lime, spicy juniper and a hint of ginger, the palate fruity and full bodied with a balance of sweet blueberry, spicy juniper, light ginger heat and a refreshing citrus note, finishing long, aromatic and elegant with fruit, spice and gentle acidity in balance. Behind the bar it brings blueberry flavour, sweetness, a spiced juniper edge and a deep colour, which makes it a natural in a Mirtillo Spritz with Prosecco, a spiced berry long drink or a fruit forward sour. Pour it neat or over ice to show the fruit and spice, or lengthen it long.
