Description
A 15 year old Foursquare bottled for the Rum Sponge label by Decadent Drinks, blending the 2005 and 2007 vintages. Foursquare is Richard Seale's St Philip distillery, the critics' favourite in Barbados and a strict no additives house, so this is dry single blended rum built on the classic pot and column recipe.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at cask strength, it pairs a soft, round texture with real power: coconut, dark chocolate and dried dates on the nose, a sweet but unsweetened palate with pepper and tannin, and a long finish of coconut and roasted oak. It drinks as a balanced, easy going Foursquare despite the 57.1%, slightly softer and more chocolatey than the standard releases. Unsweetened throughout.
