Description
Kill Devil is the rum line from Hunter Laing of Scotland, bottling whisky-house single casks at natural strength without chill filtration. This release draws on Foursquare, the most acclaimed distillery in Barbados, run by Richard Seale on strict no-additives principles. Vintage 2006 and aged 15 years in ex-bourbon oak, it is bottled cask strength at 60.3% without added sugar. Foursquare blends rich double-retort pot still with cleaner Coffey column rum, oak aged, for a balanced Bajan profile, typically toffee, brown sugar, ripe banana, vanilla and soft spice. At 60.3% and fifteen years that character arrives with real depth and warmth, fuller than the distillery's standard bottlings. A dry, full-proof single distillery Barbados rum that rewards a drop of water.
