A cask strength Barbados single blend from Foursquare, fourteen years in ex-bourbon oak with no additives, layering coconut, vanilla and caramel over dark chocolate and roasted wood, powerful yet composed at 62%.

Description
Foursquare ECS XII Nobiliary is part of the ECS range, the limited annual run from Richard Seale that has become a reference point for aged Caribbean rum. It is a single blended rum, the classic Bajan marriage of double-retort pot still and column still distillate from one distillery, distilled in 2005 and bottled at fourteen years and full strength with nothing added.
The maturation is all ex-bourbon, which suits the elegant Foursquare profile and pushes the bourbon-cask markers forward: coconut and vanilla up top, then caramel, dark chocolate and toasted, roasted oak. Tropical ageing in Barbados does the heavy lifting in fewer calendar years, and the no-additives, no-sugar ethos means the wood and spirit speak plainly. At 62% it carries real power, yet stays balanced and dry, rewarding slow sipping and a drop of water for anyone who already leans toward bourbon-cask Foursquare.
