Flaming Heart 6th Edition CB (Compass Box) is a blended malt Scotch from Compass Box, a vatting of single malts. Blenders such as this use Teaninich for the structure and freshness it brings. Speyside and Highland malts give the vatting its body.

A blended malt marries single malts from more than one distillery to a house style. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, gentle American oak beneath the green fruit. The malts are vatted and married to a balanced whole, then bottled. A green, oily profile runs through the whole. Blenders use Teaninich for the freshness and structure it brings. A blended malt marries single malts from more than one distillery. Highland malts lend a clean, grassy thread to the vatting. The maker selects malts for the balance each brings. A period of marrying lets the whiskies settle together. The result is a fresh, characterful Scotch. Compass Box often reaches for Teaninich to give its blends structure.

At 48.9%, undiluted, it is deep and grassy. Green fruit, honey and a soft spice run through it, with a clean, oily depth. A green tea and a lemon note lift it. Cut grass and citrus draw out the close. A characterful blended malt Scotch.
