Description
Firestarter is a dry gin from Moldova, distilled by traditional methods and given multiple passes through the still for purity and a smooth texture. Its botanical bill leans classic but adds pine nuts among the spices, lending a soft nutty depth alongside the juniper. The fire-extinguisher-shaped bottle is pure showmanship, but the liquid inside plays the gin straight.
The nose is fresh juniper with light pine, herbs and a subtle floral edge; the palate is dry and elegant, juniper to the fore with fine citrus, pine nut and spicy coriander and pepper. The finish stays long, fresh and gently spiced. A natural for a G&T with a quality Indian tonic and a lemon twist, or stirred into a Tom Collins.
