Sharp lemon peel and orange blossom open over a firm spine of juniper, with liquorice and angelica adding a herbal, faintly sweet weight. Distilled at Thames Distillers in London the traditional way, it earns its name from the Crown’s old fifty-pound levy on stills. Crisp, spicy and properly dry.

Description
Fifty Pounds takes its name from the 1736 Gin Act, when the Crown demanded a fifty-pound licence of anyone wishing to distil, a measure aimed at taming London's gin craze. Made today at the respected Thames Distillers in south London using a strict London Dry method, it gathers juniper, lemon peel, coriander seed, angelica root, orange blossom and liquorice root into a balanced, classically structured spirit.
The nose is fresh and lively, intense juniper lifted by citrus and orange blossom with a herbal undertone. The palate is full-bodied and complex, herbal notes and citrus brightness meeting the gentle spice of liquorice and angelica. It finishes long, refreshing and lightly spiced. A natural for a clean Gin Martini, or a Gin & Tonic with a curl of lemon to draw out its citrus edge.
