The bottler Jack Wiebers Whisky World bottled this Fettercairn, a 24 year old, distilled in 1990, bottled at 51.1%, one of 118 bottles. Fettercairn is a Highland single malt from Whyte and Mackay, known for pineapple and tropical fruit. It uses unpeated malt and matures mostly in American oak ex-Bourbon casks.

Worked through the cooling ring stills for a clean, fruity make, building the tropical Fettercairn style. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla to the fruit. In the oxidative, evaporative years concentration brings dried tropical fruit, a roasted coffee and a soft spice. Mountain spring water and the cooling rings give the tropical Fettercairn make. Its stills carry unique cooling rings, copper tubes that drench them in cold mountain water. It was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, who turned a corn mill at Nethermill into a distillery.

At a natural 51.1% it is full and fruity. Mango, citrus and a soft honey, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Mango, citrus and a creamy vanilla fill the middle. Citrus, fruit and a soft oak see out the finish. This is a fruity, tropical Highland single malt.
