From the bottler Uncharted Whisky Co, a 14 year old Fettercairn, distilled in 2007, from cask UC009, bottled at 53.3%. Fettercairn is a light, fruit driven Highland single malt from the village of Fettercairn. It has been owned by Whyte and Mackay since 1973.

The spirit was distilled slow and light for the tropical Fettercairn style, for a light, fruit driven spirit. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla to the fruit. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper pineapple and pear. Long ageing turns the fresh tropical fruit towards dried mango, coffee and a soft spice. A gentle maturation suits the light make, the tropical fruit growing richer with time. American oak suits the tropical make, lending vanilla and coconut over the fruit. Refill oak lets the light, tropical Fettercairn character lead the way.

At a natural 53.3% it is full and fruity. A light, tropical sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A dried fruit and a soft oak give it depth. The finish is rounded, tropical and gently spiced. This is the light, fruit driven malt of Fettercairn.
