A 13 year old Fettercairn from the bottler Jack Wiebers Whisky World, distilled in 2009, from cask 1603, bottled at 50.6%, one of 108 bottles. Fettercairn is a Highland single malt shaped by the unique cooling rings on its stills. It has been owned by Whyte and Mackay since 1973.

It was distilled slow and light for the tropical Fettercairn style, building the tropical Fettercairn style. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending vanilla and a little coconut. In integration lactones (coconut) and vanillin (vanilla) knit with the spirit, the pineapple deepening to a mango. Long ageing turns the fresh tropical fruit towards dried mango, coffee and a soft spice. American oak suits the tropical make, lending vanilla and coconut over the fruit. In 2018 the distillery relaunched with a new core range under maker Gregg Glass. Refill oak lets the light, tropical Fettercairn character lead the way.

At a hearty 50.6% it carries real weight. A light, tropical sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fruity and tropical, the light spirit shining through. A clean finish ends on pineapple and a soft oak. This is a light, tropical Highland single malt.
