From the Glasgow bottler Douglas Laing, a 10 year old Fettercairn, bottled at 46%, one of 391 bottles. Fettercairn is a light, fruit driven Highland single malt from the village of Fettercairn. It was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay, who turned a corn mill at Nethermill into a distillery.

It was distilled slow and light for the tropical Fettercairn style, building the tropical Fettercairn style. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the fruity spirit. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper pineapple and pear. Vanillin and oak lactones from the wood lend vanilla and coconut over the fruit. Its water comes from springs in the Grampian and Cairngorm mountains above the distillery. Maturation on site in the Fettercairn dunnage warehouses is slow and steady.

At 46% it is clean and soft. Pineapple, pear and a creamy vanilla, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is fruity and tropical, the light spirit shining through. Citrus, fruit and a soft oak see out the finish. This is Fettercairn's pineapple led Highland style.
