A 10 Year Old single cask Australian Beenleigh bottled at cask strength by Ferroni, double matured in Provence and finished in cognac casks, dark and oily with dark chocolate, dried fruit, leather and roasted coffee at 62.3%.
Description
Ferroni Brut de Fut 2013 is a single cask Australian rum, drawn from Beenleigh stock, distilled in 2013 and bottled unsweetened at cask strength, 62.3%, by the Provence house Maison Ferroni. Ferroni works in the small batch cask strength tradition, double maturing its bottlings in southern France, here adding a cognac cask layer over the ex-bourbon base.
The result is deep and brooding. The nose shows wood, dried fruit and a fresh floral edge with real intensity, while the palate is woody and oily with dark chocolate and leather. The finish runs long and roasted, coffee and chocolate over firm oak. The wine and cognac influence threads extra layers through a dense, chocolatey core, and the unsweetened presentation keeps everything taut. This is a big, contemplative cask strength rum for experienced drinkers, pushing the dark, woody depth of aged Australian Beenleigh with an extra wine finish twist.
