Ferroni Antilles Hispaniques 2015

Ferroni Antilles Hispaniques 2015 is a 7 Year Old Cuban ron from the 2015 vintage, bottled by Maison Ferroni, the Marseille based house known for its unsweetened Brut de Fut releases and a second maturation in Provence in ex-sweet-wine casks. This one carries that signature, with the soft Cuban column distillate pushed to an uncompromising 65.2% and left without any added sugar.

The molasses base and column still keep the spirit clean, but the cask work and high proof give it real weight: dried fruit, cocoa, coffee and vanilla on the nose, then a thick, layered, caramelised palate that finishes on vanilla, cinnamon, orange and molasses. There is a natural sweetness from the wine cask influence rather than dosage, alongside roasted, almost espresso bitterness and a touch of muscat fruit. This is a bold, sticky, hot bottling that rewards patience and water, better suited to experienced palates than to easy sipping.
