Description
Ferraton Père & Fils is a Rhône Valley producer, and Samorëns Blanc is its Côtes du Rhône white, a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier grown across the appellation in the warm Southern Rhône. The Mediterranean climate ripens these varieties fully, giving the ripe stone fruit and rounded body typical of the region, while the blend balances that weight: Grenache Blanc brings body and a soft citrus base, Roussanne adds structure and a nutty, honeyed note, and Viognier lifts the aromatics with apricot and white flowers. The wine is fermented and held for three months in stainless steel, with no oak, a choice that preserves the fresh fruit and floral aromas and keeps the style bright and immediate rather than broad. The colour is pale gold. The nose leads with white peach, apricot and pear, with melon and a floral top note. The palate is medium-bodied and rounded, the ripe fruit carried on gentle acidity to a soft, faintly honeyed finish. It drinks well young. Serve chilled at 10 to 12C.
