Faustino V Rosado 2024

Faustino V Rosado is a young rosé from D.O.Ca. Rioja, made entirely from Tempranillo grown on the winery's own vineyards across some 650 hectares around the towns of Laguardia and Oyón in Rioja Alavesa. The local clay and limestone soils and the continental climate, with warm days and cool nights from the surrounding mountains, ripen the Tempranillo while keeping its acidity intact. The grapes are harvested and vinified by traditional methods the winery has refined over decades. A short, cool fermentation in stainless steel preserves the fruit and the bright pink colour, and the wine is bottled young with no oak so the primary character stays to the front. The colour is a vivid raspberry pink. The nose shows fresh strawberry and raspberry, with a hint of red currant and white flowers. The palate is fruit driven and rounded, with ripe red berries and plum balanced by fresh acidity into a clean finish. This is an easygoing, gastronomic rosado built for the table. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees.
