A 2008 TDL single cask from Famille Ricci, overproof at 63 percent and led by yellow fruits and peaches over wood, a fresh, fruit-forward Trinidad rum bottled unsweetened from the living distillery.
Description
This is TDL, the working Trinidad distillery in the Angostura group, distilled in 2008 and chosen by the French house Famille Ricci for its 2025 single-cask range under the TMH3 reference. Bottled overproof at 63 percent and unsweetened, it shows the lighter, fragrant column-still Trinidad idiom rather than the heavy Caroni style.
The nose leads on yellow fruits and peaches over wood, and the palate is intense and fresh with more peach, red fruits and a vivid fruit-syrup character. The finish turns caramelised and gently sweet over oak with a fresh lift. Distilled from Trinidadian molasses on a column still and matured in oak, it pairs the clean, high-distilled Trinidad profile with full cask strength, the fruit carrying the spirit rather than tar or smoke. A bright, gourmet single cask that wears its overproof strength with poise, best given a little air to bloom.
