A cask strength island blend from Famille Ricci pairing Jamaican Worthy Park with aged Guyana rum, dry and spice-driven with banana, caramelised sugar, allspice and butterscotch over a tropical, baking-spiced finish at 54.3%.
Description
Famille Ricci OVNI 10 is a roughly nineteen year old blend selected by the French house Famille Ricci, marrying Jamaican pot still rum from Worthy Park with aged Guyana distillate. Worthy Park draws its esters from fermentation alone rather than dunder or muck pits, giving a clean but expressive funk, and here it meets the heavier Demerara character. Built from pot still spirit, aged in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at 54.3%, it is a dry, full-proof blend.
The Worthy Park profile stays the more dominant of the two, banana and caramelised sugar leading a nose that adds toasted notes and dark chocolate. The palate is woody and spice-forward, allspice and barrel framing the banana, with the Guyana side lending weight and depth beneath. The finish is long and warmly spiced, banana and tropical fruit meeting butterscotch and baking spice. It is a wood-leaning, harmonious marriage that lets the Jamaican fruit lead while the Demerara depth keeps it grounded.
