A cask strength blend of several distilleries from Famille Ricci, fresh and vegetal with sugarcane, lime and an unusual green tea lift before closing on ripe mango, an unsweetened, agricole leaning pour to drink neat at 55%.
Description
Divergence N°3 is a blend of several distilleries assembled by the French house Famille Ricci, built from pot still rum and bottled unsweetened at 55%. It pairs origins to play their strengths against each other, and the result leans toward the fresh, cane driven side of the rum spectrum rather than the heavy molasses end.
Unaged and clear in spirit, it opens on sugarcane, lime and a green, vegetal freshness with a fruity edge. The palate keeps that vegetal, grassy character going, sugarcane and a curious tea like note running through the middle, before a finish that turns to mango over a spicy, vegetal close. Tasters note it is the more gourmand and rounder of the series, a touch sweeter and less acidic than its siblings while staying dry and free of additives. It rewards being enjoyed neat and unhurried, a lively, terroir minded blend for those who like their rum fresh and green.
