Experimental Grain Whisky Blended Grain CB (Compass Box) is a blended grain Scotch from Compass Box. It marries grain whiskies from more than one distillery, Cameronbridge among them. Cameronbridge, Scotland's largest grain distillery, lends a light, sweet, oily grain to such whiskies.

Aged grain whiskies bring coconut, vanilla and a buttery sweetness to the vatting. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, American oak giving coconut and toffee. The whiskies are married and rested before bottling. A blended grain marries grain whiskies from more than one distillery. The maker selects casks for the sweetness and depth each lends. Grain whisky gives such blends a light, sweet, oily frame. A period of marrying lets the whiskies settle together. The result is a soft, sweet, oily Scotch with a creamy oak depth. Scotland's grain distilleries are the quiet backbone of its blends.

At an easy 46% it is gentle. Coconut, vanilla, toffee and a soft oil run through it, with a creamy oak depth. The texture is oily and buttery, the sweetness coating. A long, oily finish carries a coconut lift. A characterful blended grain Scotch drawing on Scotch grain whisky.
