Description
Herdade de Esporão is one of Portugal's largest estates, spread over more than 1,200 hectares of Alentejo with vineyards, olive groves and a central lake that helps regulate the high daytime temperatures of this warm inland region. The Reserva Branco blends Antão Vaz, Arinto, Roupeiro and Semillon, each contributing something: Antão Vaz brings body and ripe fruit, Arinto the acidity and citrus backbone that keeps a warm-climate white fresh, with Roupeiro and Semillon adding aromatic breadth. The wine spends six months on its lees, which adds mid-palate weight and a subtle savoury depth while smoothing the texture. The 2024 is bright gold with a ripe, spicy nose of white peach and melon lifted by nutmeg, white pepper, citrus and orange blossom. The palate is dry and rounded, medium to full in body at 13.5 percent, carried by a citrus freshness that balances the ripeness through to a clean finish. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a white glass.
