Entrelobos is a young Ribera del Duero from the Barrero brothers of Vinedos Singulares, made from Tinto Fino. Fermented in stainless steel and aged under a year in French oak, it keeps fresh blackberry and plum fruit, a little spice and an approachable structure.
Description
Entrelobos is a red wine from D.O. Ribera del Duero, made by Vinedos Singulares from Tinto Fino. The project belongs to brothers Luis and Carlos Barrero, who work with indigenous varieties from established Spanish regions. Ribera del Duero sits high on the Castilian plateau, with a continental climate and cold nights through ripening that hold acidity and build colour in the thick-skinned fruit. The wine ferments in stainless steel tanks to keep the fruit clean and primary, then ages partially for less than a year in French oak, a light touch that adds a little cedar and spice while leaving the fruit in front. It is deep red, with blackberry, plum and dark cherry, a hint of liquorice and a gentle oak spice. The palate is medium to full bodied, with fresh fruit, moderate acidity and ripe, approachable tannin carrying into a clean finish. It offers the structure of the region in a younger, more immediate style. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees. It pairs with grilled beef, roast lamb, mushroom dishes and hard cheese.
