A single cask Enmore distilled in 2006 and aged seventeen years, bottled at 56.2 percent off one of Guyana’s heritage wooden stills, dark with roasted wood, prunes, liquorice and burnt sugar over a dry, warming finish.
Description
Enmore is one of the storied Demerara estate names, its spirit now made on the wooden stills gathered at Diamond, the last home of Guyana's irreplaceable heritage equipment. This bottling comes off a single wooden pot still and carries the heavy, woody Demerara stamp that no modern still can replicate, a profile defined by the still rather than any brand.
Released as a single cask in the Rumclub Private Selection range, it spent seventeen years maturing before bottling at cask strength, 56.2 percent and unsweetened. The nose opens on prunes, burnt sugar and roasted wood, the palate turns to leather, dark fruit and timber, and oak, malt and burnt sugar carry a long, dry finish. This is the dark, roasted Demerara style at full intensity, with the extra punch and depth that a modern vintage at this age and proof can deliver.
