Emperor Celebration Les Saintes Claires comes from Emperor, a Mauritian rum brand, in a Germany edition built on a 2000 distillate. It is a molasses-based rum from Mauritius, an island whose rums sit outside the French AOC.
Aged 22 years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 42%, this is a long-matured tropical rum where the years in oak set the tone. Expect a soft, mellow profile with the vanilla, toasted wood and gentle spice that long ex-bourbon ageing brings, rounded and approachable at its strength. A rum for slow after-dinner sipping.
