Description
Made in Germany but inspired by the wide light of Africa, Elephant Gin folds a handful of foraged African botanicals in among the classic gin bill, distilling them with fresh apples and German spring water. Every bottle carries a hand-lettered label, an individual number and the name of a living elephant, set against an old illustrated map of Africa's southern coast; fifteen percent of profits funds elephant conservation, and the plastic-free, cork-sealed bottle reflects the same intent.
The nose is floral and orchard-fresh, apple and juniper threaded with fine herbal accents. On the palate it stays mild and layered, the African herbs lending a gentle warmth beneath the fruit, before a long, soft, aromatic finish. Pour it over a good Indian tonic with a wedge of fresh apple to draw out the orchard notes.
