Description
El Tequileño Tequila Blanco Platinum is a 100% Blue Weber blanco from NOM 1108, La Guarreña, the Salles family distillery in the town of Tequila that has drawn volcanic spring water from the Volcán de Tequila since 1959. Built from highland agave, it sits at the blanco end where the agave and the distillery's water speak most clearly.
Though essentially a blanco, it is given a very short rest of just fourteen days in American oak, brief enough to round the edges without imposing real cask colour or sweetness. The profile stays savoury and agave forward: cooked agave on the nose with a herbal lean and delicate touches of anise and black pepper, then a lightly peppery, spicy palate and a fine finish. Bottled at 40%, it makes a clean base for a margarita.
